As we have the ability to list over one million items on our website (our selection changes all of the time), it is not feasible for a company our size to record and playback the descriptions on every item on our website. However, if you have a disability we are here to help you. Please call our disability services phone line at 941-629-5550 during regular business hours and one of our kind and friendly personal shoppers will help you navigate through our website, help conduct advanced searches, help you choose the item you are looking for with the specifications you are seeking, read you the specifications of any item and consult with you about the products themselves. There is no charge for the help of this personal shopper for anyone with a disability. Finally, your personal shopper will explain our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and help you place an order if you so desire.

If you’re shopping for a new mattress, you may have already answered this question. However, it is important to recognize the signs of a worn-out mattress regardless of how old the mattress is. If there is visible sagging, top layers have become too compressed, coils that have broken through or are about to break through or lumps and bulges that don’t go away; it is time for a new mattress. Also, if you experience pain every morning, are not waking up refreshed or getting the right support or your comfort level needs have changed, it is time to purchase a new mattress.

Since quality varies by make and model, there is really no rule of thumb for how long a new mattress will last. That being said, eight years is an average that many mattress retailers have adopted. Although warranties are often longer, warranties protect against defects and are not an indication of how long a mattress lasts. Mike’s Mattress recommends the purchase of a mattress protector with any new mattress, as it will help to not only prevent liquids from staining, but also stop dust mites, dead skin cells, and other microbes from penetrating the surface of your mattress over time.

Yes! Most of the mattresses (and/or foundations) at Mike’s Mattress can be made in a custom or special size. We work with customers that have RVs, boats or bedroom furniture that require specific dimensions whether it’s length, width or height. We also have the ability to manufacture rounded corners or any different shape.

The keys to living a quality life are exercise, nutrition and a forgotten dimension called quality sleep. A good mattress is an investment that gives you tremendous return. The amount and quality of your sleep is a critical factor in your overall well-being, it affects your productivity and how you feel physically and mentally. For less than a dollar a day you can get a quality mattress that will last you for years to come and provide you with the sleep you need to be at your best. You should invest in the best quality mattress you can afford. Synchrony financing is also available to help you with your purchase.

The best mattress is the one that feels the most comfortable and supportive to you. Firm is not always the best. You will not sacrifice support with a soft mattress, if the mattress is made well. Always try a mattress exactly the way you sleep at home. There are many types of mattresses today, and they are offered in many different comfort levels. Come in and have our sleep team fit you to the right mattress!

Yes, we do. We have a selection of 2-sideded mattresses made especially for our store.

It is important to replace the box spring/foundation and bed frame whenever you buy a new mattress. Just as an old mattress can begin to sag over time, so can the box spring and bed frame under it. If you place a brand-new mattress on an old foundation and frame, it will eventually begin to sag in the same spots as the old mattress. Please realize that most manufacturers will not honor their warranties if you place their new mattress on an old foundation and/or frame. Please note that if you purchase an adjustable bed with a mattress, you will not need a box spring/foundation.

Don’t let the height of the mattress become an issue for your comfort. Our sleep team can certainly help you with this issue. Instead of using a traditional box spring/foundation, we can adjust the height of the mattress from the floor, using a low profile box spring/foundation, a bunkie board or an adjustable bed. Using one of these products can allow you to adjust the height (higher or lower) of a mattress set by several inches or more.

At Mike's Mattress, most items you will see are in stock. We recommend all our customers use our professional delivery service. However, we understand for some customers it is more convenient or economical to pick your product up at our store or warehouse. Items should be inspected carefully prior to leaving the facility. Your purchase is under your possession and control as soon as it leaves the door of the store or warehouse. We do not recommend the use of any vehicle other than a covered truck for transporting merchandise. We will at your request and sole risk assist in placing and securing your merchandise. We cannot, however, be responsible for any damage caused by our assistance. Any claim for loss or damage due to the transportation of merchandise will be the sole responsibility of the consumer.

If we make the delivery, removal of old bedding is free. When setting up your delivery appointment let your salesperson know that you would like to have your old set removed.

Unless your warranty states otherwise, it is recommended that you turn your mattress once every two weeks for the first three months, and then every two months after that. The foundation should also be rotated every six months.

Many top-quality mattresses use advanced types of foams and fibers that are designed to be softer and more comfortable while ensuring your body has the support you need for good health and a good night’s sleep. Mattresses are supposed to be pressure relieving, which means that your mattress will naturally follow the shape of your body. Expect your new mattress to develop indentations during the first several weeks of use. These impressions are normal and were anticipated in the design of your mattress and are not an indication of structural failure. On larger sizes a ridge might develop where there is less use. As the comfort layers compress, the mattress will actually improve in performance.

Advanced sleep research has shown that it may take up to 60 days for our bodies to adjust to the proper support of a new mattress. A brand-new mattress needs time to fully take shape and start adjusting to your body, as you adjust to it. Just as your new dress shoes take some time to feel good, your new mattress might take some time for your body to become adjusted. This is especially true if you are changing from a very old mattress set, a damaged mattress set or a poor-quality unsupportive mattress. This is also true if you are changing “comfort” levels, for example moving from a firm to a new fluffy pillow top mattress. Please be patient with your new mattress set – you’ll be glad you did!

Yes. Mike’s Mattress offers a 30 day comfort exchange guarantee. Your new mattress will take time to adjust to your body, however, if you're not sleeping comfortably on your new mattress after 30 days (and up to 60 days), we will gladly provide a one-time exchange for another mattress of equal or greater value, provided that the law tags are still attached, the returned mattress is in like new condition, free of stains, or tears and not soiled. There is no restocking fee for this service, but standard delivery fees apply. The comfort exchange policy applies to mattresses and excludes motorized beds, special orders, floor models and closeout/clearance merchandise.

We only carry the major national mattress brands, and they provide warranty coverage anywhere in the United States. If you ever have a warranty issue, you will be able to receive assistance no matter where you live. Please note, our mattresses are hand-assembled, and no two mattresses are ever identical and there are always minor imperfections. Please don’t be alarmed. Fabric scuffs, blemishes, and loose threads are common and do not affect the durability, comfort or the performance of your new mattress set.

Vacuuming is the only recommended cleaning method. If you must clean a stain, use mild soap with cold water and apply lightly. Don't ever soak a mattress or foundation, and don't use dry cleaning fluid of any type on your mattress; these chemicals could damage some of the comfort and upholstery materials. The best way to keep your mattress clean however, is by using a waterproof mattress protector. We carry Malouf’s Sleep Tite Five Sided Omniphase Mattress Protector with Tencel. It is 100% waterproof yet highly breathable and is the best feeling mattress protector we've ever felt.
