My wife Terry and I went to Mike's Mattress a few weeks ago and purchased a queen sized mattress for ourselves while our 22 year old son purchased one for himself as well. We were greeted by a very friendly salesman who provided relevant information and answered our questions without once ever becoming pushy. We took our time, tested all of the mattresses, and left feeling we had made a well informed decision. We intend to return next year in the hopes that they will have come out with an adjustable bed frame designed to fit on a platform such as we already own. This is the type of experience for which we search, no pressure, and knowledgeable assistance to help us find the right fit for our needs.

Patrick and I went shopping for a queen size mattress here at Mike's Mattress and was greeted by our salesman David. He is very knowledgeable and friendly very cheerful. My wife and I recently purchased 2 mattress sets from Mike's mattress and it's easy to see why they are voted Port Charlotte's best mattress store year after year. I was amazed at the great selection of American made mattress in all price ranges and the saleslady patiently explained the features and benefits of each, while suggesting that we take our time testing all we were interested in. We made our selection, were surprised at how much lower the price was compared to others we had shopped. And they were delivered the following day by two delightful young men who quickly set them up. All in all, this was the best shopping experience we have had in a long while.

Mike's Mattress has always been recognized as the place to go in Port Charlotte for a quality mattress at a reasonable price. Since we were in the market for latex mattress, my husband and I decided to visit Mike's and see what he had to offer before we considered buying anything online or at any of the other mattress stores. We now know why Mike's is voted #1 so many times- we were delighted with the sales associate who was so knowledgeable and eager to answer our numerous questions and we were encouraged to spend as much time in the showroom as we wanted with absolutely no pressure to buy. A quality latex mattress can be quite pricey (we had been researching online and visiting local stores for quite some time so we knew what to expect) so I can say for certain that the quality of the mattress we purchased at Mike's was only surpassed by the price we paid! Delivery was quick and professional, the last step of a great buying experience. I am definitely a very pleased customer, however, more importantly- my husband feels the same way. We both recommend Mike's Mattress without reservation.

I work for a company that provides services and support to elderly and disabled people. We had an emergency situation where someone needed a mattress and Dave worked with me past store closing time to help. I stopped in to purchase a new mattress. While testing them out I decide to splurge on an power adjustable frame. I was told that it would take about a week to get everything. To my surprise it only took 2 days. However when it was delivered it was discovered that I was not quoted on the frame I thought I had selected but a different less expensive model. Without any argument, Mikes Mattress agreed to honor and supply me the Bed and Frame that I was originally quoted. Just one of the reasons that Mikes Mattress is constantly winning awards. I could not speak more highly of Mike's Mattress and Dave the head salesman. I looked forward to buying a new mattress about as much as shopping for a used car which is probably why we had our old mattress 25 years! Whenever I make a major purchase, I do my homework. Normally that means reading every review, good and bad. I started with the well known mattress stores (you know their names) that seem to be on every corner, up and down 41. I had to search to find a positive review. The vast majority of the reviews were from unhappy customers who had warranty issues either within the first 30 days or within the warranty period. I decided we wouldn't touch those mattress stores with a 10 foot pole! I then looked at department stores. I was at the mall and stopped at a major retailer. After pricing a mattress with an adjustable base I headed home to check the reviews. Although the store salespeople had decent reviews. they sold their warranties to a third party company. Their premium warranty would cost $600 which supposedly covers everything. I read almost 300 reviews and almost all of them were from people who had paid for the premium warranty but the third party warranty company in almost every instance tried to weasel out of the warranty. That scared me away from the department stores. We also decided against the furniture stores because mattress sales are only a small portion of their business and we were looking for real expertise. Then Mike's Mattress Store popped up on my google search. After reading some really good reviews I convinced my wife to check it out, for a learning experience if nothing else. It was a nice clean building and showroom but nothing fancy which was just fine with us. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. First, mattresses are their only business so they really know their products. Secondly, Dave was great. He was extremely knowledgeable without being pushy and never once tried to sell us anything else like an extended warranty which I really appreciated. He also shared his and his wife's own mattress story both good and bad which was helpful. In the course of our shopping, Dave introduced us to Mike the owner who was just as nice as Dave and took the time to talk with us for awhile. They both came across as nice, honest, regular local people and we ended up buying a king mattress with the adjustable base at a better price than the department store. That's not the end of the story. After a few weeks, we felt like we had made a mistake and the mattress was just not firm enough for us. I thought we were going to have a battle on our hands but Dave couldn't have been nicer. He told me their goal was to make us happy and was honestly concerned with us sleeping well. When is the last time you heard a salesman say that! He never made us feel guilty for making a mistake. We finally settled on a firmer mattress which will be delivered and set up. The delivery and set up guys are great too! If you do your homework like I did this is where you want to buy a mattress in SW Florida.Rick T. Venice

Knowing Mike’s Mattress has been in this area for so long and the help he has given to the area in years past when we needed a new mattress we knew right where to go. Great place. I had seen a lot of good reviews about this store and wanted it to be our first stop when we went mattress shopping. My husband was really skeptical about a "non-chain" store. From the time I walked in the door till I left I was treated with kindness and respect. Showed me the mattresses that were in my budget told me to take my time no pressure at all. We purchased a new queen size mattress. There was no sales pressure. All our questions were answered so we were well informed when making our decision. It was delivered the next day! The two delivery men were careful and took time to make sure the new mattress was positioned exactly as it should be. It is so helpful that they take the worn-out mattress with them. My daughter Kristina Loves the bed she purchased from Mikes Mattress. My back pain was so bad from working 9 an 10 hours a day at 62yrs old. I read a lot of reviews before I went in to Mike's Mattress. I went alone the first visit and was greeted by a very friendly associate, Ed. He was helping another couple but immediately acknowledged my presence and said he'd be right there to help me. I explained that what was I was looking for (something to help the lower back issues I've had for years) and he pointed me in the right direction. I tried out about 6 different mattresses, narrowed that down and brought my husband back the next week to purchase. I did compare a bit with other stores online but just felt that there was no need to go anywhere but Mike's Mattress. Ed explained every detail of the different mattresses that we were considering and we know we made the right choice. The mattress and boxspring were delivered in 2 days and from night one my back has been so much better!

When we first visited the showroom, there was only one person on the sales floor, so we picked out a mattress that we thought would suit our needs. We purchased the mattress and after 4 weeks it was delivered to us. Two weeks of sleepless nights convinced us that we had made the wrong choice. Luckily, this company offers a 30-day exchange policy. We went back and explained our situation and the salesperson (I believe his name was Ed) was extremely understanding and also extremely helpful. He asked what was important to us and we described what our issues were with the first mattress. He walked us through a couple of demonstrations and we ended up selecting another mattress that is just perfect for us. It was also in stock and we received it in two days! We cannot say enough about the customer service at Mike's Mattress. Although our first experience in the store didn't turn out too well (because only one person was on the floor), they more than made up for it with our second experience. I highly recommend this business. We would much rather deal with a locally owned business than a big box store and our experience at Mike's confirmed our beliefs. Shopped for a new mattress at 5 or 6 of the local furniture and mattress outlets. Then we went to Mikes. What a world of difference. Ed was as nice a guy and 10 steps above in his knowledge of mattresses than anyone else we met. He asked all the right questions, then tried to match the type of pillow we used so we could try the various mattresses out. He then helped us work thru or likes and concerns and this all while trying to work with 2 other customers. Needless to say we bought a new box/box spring and the price was great. Delivery / removal was seamless and after 2 great nights sleeping on it was best decision we could have made. Would recommend these folks and its worth the drive to PC to find what you want!

STOP RIGHT HERE! No need to shop any further! We've been in Florida for 15 years and have purchased 3 mattresses here. Two Kings and a Queen. A 4th was purchased at a chain, a Simmons mattress which turned into a HUGE bad investment, we gave it away and it was only a few months old. Back to Mikes and the SYMBOL brand! If you've never heard of it, go in, talk to them and try it out! We almost purchased a Tempurpedic for thousands more at another destination but the Symbol took the prize, once again! Our gal Jennifer was the epitome of a professional and her honesty shone through, it was very evident and, as well Jen was super accommodating and caring! I did a lot of research in the Punta Gorda area looking for mattresses to purchase. Mike’s Mattress had high reviews and I like to support local, so I went to his store looking to purchase two beds. I needed them ASAP as I was leaving in two days and needed the beds delivered prior to leaving. I worked with the salesman to purchase in stock mattresses. I decided to add a frame and headboard for one bed. The wicker headboard was very well made. All items were in stock. One delivery price for next day delivery. The delivery guys were running late that day, but we were able to work out a good time to meet and it worked out perfectly. I was very pleased with the purchase, salesman, delivery, and price. Highly recommend.

You could not have asked for a more friendly place to shop for a new mattress. They did not have the mattress I wanted in stock, but they gave me a more expensive one for the same price. And were able to deliver it the next day, plus set it up for me. They would have even taken away the old one if I needed them too. I will definitely go back the next time I need another mattress.

One afternoon I was browsing mattresses, and started noticing the pillows. They weren't even close to the quality of a mass retail pillow! Because my husband's pillow was sort of worn out, I got a new Bed Gear pillow and gave it to him. Like magic, his poor sleep went away. He now sleeps the whole night, and wakes up refreshed. It's truly amazing. When it's time to get a mattress, I'll be back to Mike's Mattress. In the course of processing my warranty claim it was necessary to visit a Beautyrest store. The store I purchased the original mattress from no longer exists, thus I had to go to another Beautyrest dealer.
The store I chose is Mike’s Mattress located in Port Charlotte, FL. My wife and I mad about three visits to the store in selecting a new style mattress. On our initial visit I explained to the salesman ED that we were in the middle of processing a warranty claim with Beautyrest Corp.
This was not an issue with Mike’s Mattress. They were extremely helpful in explaining all of the different options available. Once we made our decision on a mattress, they then provided all of the information we needed to file the claim. They even offered to process the claim for us at no charge. I called Beautyrest claims department and was advised this was not possible.
If every Beautyrest dealer was this nice and helpful as Mike’s you would not have any competitors to worry about.
I hope this note is passed along to the proper department to recognize Mike’s Mattress as an outstanding representative of your company.

Just wanted to say that I saw a Mike's Mattress truck on Kings Highway this morning. Also trying to cross the highway was a turtle. Your delivery guy pulled over, waited for traffic to ease, picked up that turtle and released him on the other side of the highway (in the direction the turtle was headed). Finances were an issue as I’m assisting my 83yr old stepdad transition to NorthPort closer to me after losing 2 sons due to heart attacks just a week apart...I didn’t share the stress I was feeling with the sales associate Ed. We had just bought a house and wanted to spend the night there. We were done settlement around 12:30 and needed a mattress and box spring and needed it delivered the same day. I looked on line for matress stores near me and came up with Mike's. We went in and everything was taken care of in less then an hour. We bought 2 mattresses and box springs, two matress covers, a metal bed frame and 2 pillows. We left there and drove home and by the time we got home, they were there. They set up the beds and hauled away the old ones. I will recommend this store to everyone.

We were in need of a bed after competitor brought a bed that did not have the necessary parts to complete installation. I searched the Internet and fortunately found Mike’s. We went to Mike's based on the reviews and have not been disappointed. Our initial experience when we purchased our mattress was very good. However, our post purchase experience is why I made the effort to write this review. We thought we made the correct choice on our mattress purchase, but later realized we needed a different type of mattress. Mike and his team went way above what we were expecting when we went back to the store for help. It was much appreciated and we are looking forward to our new mattress delivery today. Great place for buying a mattress. The staff is knoledgable and helpful. We needed an adjustable bed for medical reasons. They had a good variety and prices were reasonable. Delivery was within an hour. The delivery team was in and out within 25 minutes. They took the old mattress and box spring, set up the new bed and were gone.

Excellent customer service, salesperson very helpful. As well sale done at 2pm mattress delivered by 4pm same day. If you are looking for a mattress go here first. Forget about the chain stores. You will have to wait and the effort does not pay off. Again go here first.

My wife Terry and I went to Mike's Mattress a few weeks ago and purchased a queen sized mattress for ourselves while our 22 year old son purchased one for himself as well. We were greeted by a very friendly salesman who provided relevant information and answered our questions without once ever becoming pushy. We took our time, tested all of the mattresses, and left feeling we had made a well informed decision. We intend to return next year in the hopes that they will have come out with an adjustable bed frame designed to fit on a platform such as we already own. This is the type of experience for which we search, no pressure, and knowledgeable assistance to help us find the right fit for our needs.

Patrick and I went shopping for a queen size mattress here at Mike's Mattress and was greeted by our salesman David. He is very knowledgeable and friendly very cheerful. He was not pushy and answered every question I had.
After a bit we finally decided on the the one that was right for us and to our surprise it was in our budget.,:D
We also purchased a water proof mattress cover and hubby bought me a pillow.
To our surprise they will deliver it Monday.
We also had a chance to meet the owner who was just as friendly.
We recommend Mike's Mattress to anyone looking to replace their old set.
Kudos for their friendliness and for not being pushy and try to sell a higher dollar set on us.

I could not speak more highly of Mike's Mattress and Dave the head salesman. I looked forward to buying a new mattress about as much as shopping for a used car which is probably why we had our old mattress 25 years! Whenever I make a major purchase, I do my homework. Normally that means reading every review, good and bad. I started with the well known mattress stores (you know their names) that seem to be on every corner, up and down 41. I had to search to find a positive review. The vast majority of the reviews were from unhappy customers who had warranty issues either within the first 30 days or within the warranty period. I decided we wouldn't touch those mattress stores with a 10 foot pole! I then looked at department stores. I was at the mall and stopped at a major retailer. After pricing a mattress with an adjustable base I headed home to check the reviews. Although the store salespeople had decent reviews. they sold their warranties to a third party company. Their premium warranty would cost $600 which supposedly covers everything. I read almost 300 reviews and almost all of them were from people who had paid for the premium warranty but the third party warranty company in almost every instance tried to weasel out of the warranty. That scared me away from the department stores. We also decided against the furniture stores because mattress sales are only a small portion of their business and we were looking for real expertise. Then Mike's Mattress Store popped up on my google search. After reading some really good reviews I convinced my wife to check it out, for a learning experience if nothing else. It was a nice clean building and showroom but nothing fancy which was just fine with us. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. First, mattresses are their only business so they really know their products. Secondly, Dave was great. He was extremely knowledgeable without being pushy and never once tried to sell us anything else like an extended warranty which I really appreciated. He also shared his and his wife's own mattress story both good and bad which was helpful. In the course of our shopping, Dave introduced us to Mike the owner who was just as nice as Dave and took the time to talk with us for awhile. They both came across as nice, honest, regular local people and we ended up buying a king mattress with the adjustable base at a better price than the department store. That's not the end of the story. After a few weeks, we felt like we had made a mistake and the mattress was just not firm enough for us. I thought we were going to have a battle on our hands but Dave couldn't have been nicer. He told me their goal was to make us happy and was honestly concerned with us sleeping well. When is the last time you heard a salesman say that! He never made us feel guilty for making a mistake. We finally settled on a firmer mattress which will be delivered and set up. The delivery and set up guys are great too! If you do your homework like I did this is where you want to buy a mattress in SW Florida.

I stopped in to purchase a new mattress. While testing them out I decide to splurge on an power adjustable frame. I was told that it would take about a week to get everything. To my surprise it only took 2 days. However when it was delivered it was discovered that I was not quoted on the frame I thought I had selected but a different less expensive model. Without any argument, Mikes Mattress agreed to honor and supply me the Bed and Frame that I was originally quoted. Just one of the reasons that Mikes Mattress is constantly winning awards. We were looking for a Queen mattress. Saw a lot of reviews of area mattress stores and most mentioned how much more money was spent than expected. We chose Mike’s and Frank described all of the different price ranges, along with the benefits of each mattress. They offer the basic mattress in each price range; cheap, good, better and best. No pressure to buy the most expensive, he just answered questions as we tried out each mattress. Paid less than expected for a great mattress. Delivery was scheduled for the next day. They were on time and set up the bed and frame very quickly. I didn’t think we were paying for a lot of hype, high commissions, extras or add-ons. Not a lot of selection within single price ranges but everything we needed.
